About the Artist
Michel Jean Cazabon (1813–1888) was a renowned Trinidadian artist and is widely regarded as one of the Caribbean’s first significant painters. Born in Trinidad to a French Creole family, Cazabon was educated in Europe, where he developed his artistic skills.
